Need help finding and buying photos?  Follow this simple step-by-step guide.

Step 1 - Find your photos

From the event page, search by your bib number;

  1. For the full 96km event, search using 3 digit team number (e.g. 061 for team 61 or 123 for team 123)
  2. For the Stan Bissett Cup, search using 'SB' + 3 digit team number (e.g. SB061 for team 61 or SB123 for team 123)
  3. For the Jim Stillman Cup, search using 'JS' + 3 digit team number (e.g. JS061 for team 61 or JS123 for team 123)
  4. For the Kokoda Kids, search using 'KK' (Kokoda Kids are not split by teams)
  5. For all photos of competitors where bibs are missing or obscured, search using 'NA'

Alternatively, you can browse the galleries by the following the links at the bottom of the event home page.

Once you've found your photos, click the 'Select Photos' button on the top right of the screen.

This will allow you to tick each image you want to buy.  Once you have ticked all the photos you want, go to the 'Buy' menu and choose 'Select products' for the photos you have chosen to add them to the cart.

If you want to continue selecting more images chose 'Save photos for purchasing later' and carry on searching.

Step 2 - Add your selected images to cart and choose a format

Choosing which product to select should start with the question; "what am I going to use the image for?"  Answering that is half the battle, the rest is simply down to your preferences and budget.  Read on for a detailed description of each product.

Digital Options

Small JPEG:  This format is the cheapest option available and is perfect for those who want a budget momento to post online as a small profile pic, or view on their phone/tablet.  At 900x600 pixels it will fill roughly 25% of a modern computer monitor and will not support printing.

Medium JPEG:  This format offers a cost effective option for those who want a larger view (approx full screen) to view online and make their own small prints.  At 1500x1200 pixels it will nearly fill most computer monitors, and supports printing to 4x6 inches.

Large JPEG:  This format is for those who want a high res original file to make their own large prints (up to A3 size and often beyond, depending on cropping) and various other products such as banners, canvases etc.  Akin to 'buying the negative' from the days of film, this product is the most expensive but is the perfect option for those who want the highest quality, or teams who want to create their own multiple prints of the same image(s) for multiple team members.

Prints

Prints are perfect for those who want something ready-to-frame so they can hang it on the wall without any of the hassle of printing.  SOK Images offers the following print sizes

  • 5 x 7 inches - traditional format that will require slight cropping of the original file*
  • 8 x 10 inches - traditional format that will require more aggressive cropping of the original file*
  • 8 x 12 inches - modern format to fix the aspect ratio of original files

*Customers are able to set their own cropping when selecting these formats
